Extended Galápagos

12-day adventure

Get up close and personal with Galápagos during this 12-day adventure. Sit nose to nose with a grandfather tortoise, walk white-sand beaches, swim with sea lions and watch curious frigate birds land to greet you. There's no other place on earth like this!

There, our two nights spent in charming accommodations at at one of our seasonally-selected hotels are a welcome introduction to the pace of the Islands.

Our extensive time on Santa Cruz Island includes a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station where we learn about conservation issues and tortoise hatching and rearing programs. We also explore the highlands to visit giant tortoises in the wild and learn about the unique highland rain-cloud forest, a contrast to the dry, lava coasts we'll see for most of our Galápagos visit.

One of our favorite experiences is our visit to the beautiful white sand beach and bay of Tortuga Bay. There we'll stroll through gentle surf, try out our snorkel gear, hang out with marine iguanas and, in the right season, see nesting pelicans.

All this and more before boarding our yacht for a week's cruise through the Galápagos.

This unique Galápagos highlands adventure is an INCA exclusive. Come see more of the Islands!

Extended Galápagos Itinerary Summary

Day 1

Arrive in Quito, Ecuador

Day 2-3

The Galápagos! We have two days exploring the varied ecology of Santa Cruz island, while staying at the Royal Palm Resort Hotel in the lush highlands (Integrity) or in the town of Puerto Ayora (Reina Silvia).

During the course of our stay, we will hike in the rainforest, visit giant tortoises in their natural habitat, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, stroll Puerto Ayora, explore lava tubes and sink holes, and hike to the beautiful white sand beach of Tortuga Bay. We'll swim and snorkel, dine well and relax.

Day 4-10

On the evening of Day 4 we board our yacht for dinner and set sail on our Island cruise. We live aboard the yacht and spend as much time exploring the islands as park rules permit. Each night we travel on to the next island.

Please see Our Galápagos Cruising Routes for a list of islands visited on the Western and Eastern routes.

Day 11

We have breakfast on board, then disembark and fly back to Quito for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Depart for home, or on to other adventures.
