Aquarium of the World
An 8-Day Adventure
By luxury yacht, kayak, motorized inflatable boat and on foot, you'll encounter flora and fauna much of which is found nowhere else in the world. In this World Heritage biosphere reserve, you will see pods of dolphins numbering in the thousands and view many whale species including the largest living animal on earth—the blue whale.
You will enjoy exclusive cultural experiences including a visit to tiny Isla Coyote where fishermen and their families live in the only permanent settlement in the islands. Along the way you may snorkel with juvenile sea lions and see a myriad of sea life. Other optional activities include a burro ride into the arroyos, kayaking, sailing, water skiing and beachcombing.
The yacht's dining lounge has expansive views, there's a stocked bar, and plenty of deck space for enjoying a beverage or snapping shots of the stunning surroundings. All staterooms have en-suite facilities.
For activities, the yacht carries two-person sea kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling and water-skiing equipment, and a sailboat. There are motorized inflatable boats for close-up wildlife viewing as well as an underwater Hydrophone and underwater camera.
The weeklong cruise roundtrip from La Paz sails through the wildlife-rich desert sea that Jacques Cousteau called "the aquarium of the world" because of its large number of indigenous marine species. The route includes the area explored by author John Steinbeck. The flexible schedule allows ample time for observing whales, dolphins, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, pelicans and more.
